Equipment Selection and Costing

Does that business opportunity make sense? Is it feasible? What would it cost? What are the risks?

Feasibility Studies Service

Putting together a detailed feasibility study can be a daunting task. We regularly assist our clients in turning mineral resources into reserves by helping them to estimate the cost of mining. We do this through the selection of likely equipment, assessment of equipment productivity and establishment of owning and operating costs.

Deliverables

A clear idea of the mining equipment types required
Equipment numbers
Estimated productivity and capability
Owning and operating costs

Methodology
Once a mining schedule is built up with the client, the proposed operation is modelled using either Talpac or Xpac mine modelling software. These tools enable detailed simulation of the mining process and help us to accurately determine the correct sized equipment and the number of machines required.

Once the equipment list is known, we use our standard database of owning and operating costs for each machine type to prepare detailed financial analysis for your project.

This financial analysis not only identifies what expenditure will be required, but also the timing of equipment repairs, manning levels, consumable quantities and mine logistics in a simple, easy to read form.
